Grad Center COVID-19 Guidance

The Graduate Center’s COVID-19 guidance follows CUNY’s COVID-19 Guidelines.

The Graduate Center recommends following all public health guidance and CDC suggested practices which include staying up to date on vaccinations, staying home when ill, and taking any other precautions necessary to avoid the spread of COVID-19 and any other contagious viruses.

Emergency COVID-19 vaccination mandate ends May 23, 2023

Last week, CUNY announced the end of the emergency COVID-19 vaccination mandate for students, faculty, and staff, effective May 23. After working with State and City health officials to arrive at the decision, the University is aligning with the federal government’s plan to end the Public Health Emergency. CUNY has reported low positive test results, consistent with the city and state’s declining infection rates. With the end of the vaccination mandate, CUNY will end its testing program and testing sites will close by the end of June. The recommendation to keep up to date with vaccinations remains.

Cleared4 will no longer be used at the Graduate Center; members will enter by showing their student photo IDs.

In anticipation of the Fall semester, please make sure you have an ID. If you do not yet have yours, consult Grad Center ID Cards and Stickers Info to learn how to get yours either in person at the GC or remotely. Members will receive Fall 2023 validation stickers the first week of classes.

Masking Recommendation

Masking is not required, but the use of masks, especially when not feeling well, is always welcomed.

Health, Safety, and Self-Screening

For the health and safety of our entire community, we strongly recommend staying home if you are feeling sick. If you do not feel better in three days, please consult your health care provider
